Jean Marais (1913-1998)
Actor, director and writer, Jean Marais retired to the Alpes-MaritimesAlpes-Maritimes in the 1970s after the death of Jean Cocteau. Hesettled in Cabris, where he spent some fifteen years, then in Vallauriswhere he practiced pottery, sculpture and theater. He opened aart gallery "Le Fournas" thanks to a couple of potter friends. Hiscreations, anthropomorphic or zoomorphic mythological figures, areinspired by ancient traditions and theater.
