Jean-Claude Novaro (1943-2014)
Master glassmaker, born in 1943 in Antibes, he was trained by Eloi Monod in Biot where he created his own glassworks in 1977. A born inventor, an astonishing colorist, he never stops working on the reactions of glass to enamels, oxides, gold and silver inclusions. Pure research which always takes him further in his creations, pieces as unexpected as they are new. He is considered one of the greatest contemporary glass masters. Auctioneers and art critics compare him to Daum, Lalique or Marinot.
