Jean-Claude Novaro (1943-2014)

Born in 1943 in Antibes, France, Jean-Claude Novaro apprenticed at the age of 14 under Eloi Monod in Biot. He became a Master of Glass at 20, and opened his own glass work shop in 1977. Since that time, Novaro has developed a style known for its weight, depth and complex layering of color with clear glass. Jean-Claude Novaro is the first to add luminescent elements, a spectacular invention which he has patented. He is today recognized as one of the greatest glass blowers of our time. His unique and distinctive art-glass creations are highly prized and sought after by art connoisseurs world-wide.
