Boch Frères baluster vase in polychrome enameled earthenware, narrow slightly open neck, decoration by Charles Catteau with red, yellow and orange colocynth patterns, mauve leaves and blue ribbons on a white crackled background. 1930s.

About...

Franco-Belgian ceramist, he joined the Boch-Keramis factory in 1906, where he became director of the decoration workshop. Influenced by the major currents of the time (African, Japanese, Cubism, etc.), he obtained international recognition at the Decorative Arts exhibition in 1925. His sandstone vases with stylized motifs of flora and fauna are very famous .
