Roland Brice (1911-1989) and Fernand Léger (1881-1955)

Installed in Biot (Alpes Maritimes) from 1951 to 1955, Fernand Léger worked with ceramics in the workshop of the sculptor Roland Brice. He begins with useful pieces, vases, plates, in free forms and in the primary colors characteristic of the painter's work, before making monumental bas-reliefs. The Louise Carré gallery in Paris organized in 1952 and 1953 two exhibitions of his ceramics entitled "Polychrome Sculptures".
