About...

Ruelland Jacques (1926-2008) and  Dani (1933-2010)

Studying at the end of 1940s at the painting section of the National Fine Arts Academy of Paris, Jacques Ruelland turns from 1951 to the work of earthenware. With his partner Danielle, he learns about the ceramic to the workshop of the Fine arts school of Paris. Jacques Ruelland likes working oxides and is inspired painting but also by theater, dance or music. In 1970, the couple leaves Paris to settle down in the South of France where they occupy two workshops to Mont-Ventoux and to Angles. Jacques and Danielle Ruelland refused to partition their research, continuing to experiment the forms, the techniques and the materials.
