Alessandro Mendini ( 1931-2019) Mendini's work covers several fields such as graphics, interiors, stage design, writing or painting. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano in 1959, he began his career in the studio of artist designer Marcello Nizzoli. He then became the publisher of several famous magazines, such as Casabella (1970-1976), Modo and Domus (1979-1985). In 1979, he collaborated with Ettore Sottsass and Michele De Lucchi for Studio Alchimia, before founding the Domus Academy in 1982. In 1989, with his brother Francesco, they founded their architecture studio, Atelier Mendini, in Milan, where Alessandro y worked until his death in February 2019.
