George Sowden
Born in 1942 in Leeds, United Kingdom, designer George Sowden is one of the founding members of the legendary Memphis group, a design and architecture movement created in Italy in the 1980s. His work bears the geometric, colorful and bold imprint of this iconic movement. After studying architecture at Gloucestershire College of Art in the 1960s, he moved to Milan in 1970 where he began working with Ettore Sottsass and Olivetti.
