This village in Berry (center of France), renowned for its wood-fired pottery, extends as far as China. If, throughout its history, which dates back to the 15th century, the hamlet alternates periods of activity and decline, In 1941, François Guillaume, publisher of works of art and owner of a store in Bourges, invited the ceramist Jean Lerat to settle in La Borne in order to renew the artisanal tradition. The figures of this revival are named, among others, Jean and Jacqueline Lerat, André Rozay, Anne Kjaersgaard, Vassil Ivanoff or even Jean Linard.
