Cristallerie de Val Saint-Lambert
Founded in 1825 in the walls of the former Cistercian abbey of Val Saint-Lambert near Liège (Belgium), this crystal factory quickly acquired the mastery of the manufacture of lead crystal. The beginnings of the 20th century marked the height of the manufacture, which employed 5,000 people and produced ornamental pieces in clear or doubled crystal, decorated with complex cuts. The 1970s saw a revival of the creation with the arrival of Finnish designers such as Nanny Still and Samuel Herman.
