Paolo Venini (1895-1959) founded with two partners Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Venini and Co. in 1925. After the departure of his two associates, he ensures the collaboration of Carlo Scarpa, artistic director, from 1932. He influenced the creation from Venini until the 60's. Venini called on many designers including Fulvio Bianconi, Gio Ponti, Tyra Lundgren and Tommasso Buzzi. After the Second World War, production was at the forefront in the treatment of shapes and colors. The firm ensures the services of Finnish designer Tapio Virkkala from 1966. Today the factory has been absorbed by the Ferruzzi group which perpetuates the tradition.
