Ceramic Elchinger is a family company established in 1834 by Wendelin Elchinger (1809-1895) to Soufflenheim ( Alsace). The production was initially dedicated to the culinary pottery. Fernand Elchinger ( 1911-1975 ) developed and modernized the factory and set up the first electric oven on continuous fire. Following the success of Vallauris potteries, the Alsatian factory knew a strong fame with the production in the 50s of vases and jugs. From 1975 to now, the Elchinger dynasty is represented by Marc Elchinger and the production turns resolutely to the top-range tableware and to home decoration. After eight generations the family factory closed in june 2016.
