Vegetable dish by Juliette Derel and Jean Rivier Vallauris

Very rare vegetable dish in earthenware, created by Juliette Derel and Jean Rivier in the 50's to Vallauris. A characteristic drawing of these artists is represented on the lid, decorated with blue, pink and yellow enamels on a grey background. Handles are of brown-orange color and the interior is entirely covered with brown enamel.

Jean Rivier (born in 1915)

Juliette Derel (1918-2007)

Jean Rivier settles down in 1952 to Vallauris while teaching in the center of  Mediterranean Arts. He works with his wife Juliette Derel till 1961. Jean Rivier participates in numerous exhibitions during the 50s and 60s and creates with Robert Pérot l' Union des Arts plastiques so that exhibit together painters, sculptors and decorators. He leaves Vallauris in 1968 to join the School of Fine Arts of Tours where he is teaching until 1974. Juliette Derel will dedicates herself to the sculpture.
